Chag Chumash: Celebrating Tradition and Torah at HBHA in 2024

Every year at HBHA, the second graders perform and showcase their singing and dancing for the community. Working all semester for this ceremony makes it a memorable experience for the second graders which they carry throughout their time at HBHA.

Along with the help from their parents, the students decorate their own Chumash with colors and designs. The second-grade Hebrew teacher, Morah Sharon, stated “It’s not like a winter show, it’s important to the community, passing the Torah from generation to generation.” This is Morah Sharon’s first year leading the ceremony after Morah Michal Luger ran it for 13 years!

Chag Chumash represents one of HBHA’s most important values for younger kids, teaching the word of the Torah from an early age and fostering students with Jewish knowledge.
