The third place trophy of the Great Plains Tournament shines proudly in the trophy case at Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (HBHA). This season, the Lady Rams Basketball team made history with a season to remember.

After a break from basketball in 2020-2021, the HBHA Lady Rams Varsity Team has come back like never before. The Lady Rams flourished under the leadership of Captain Shir-el Rudnick, along with their amazing record of 13-2, which included landslides as well as nail biting games. Though the Lady Rams certainly have talent, this season was successful and fulfilling because of the joy, team spirit, hard work, and commitment each and every player had.

The girls dominated against many opponents and even pulled off some amazing wins, like one against Midland Adventest Academy (MAA), a long standing basketball rival of HBHA, which the Lady Rams defeated 53-51. Later in the season, they were unfortunately bested by MAA, but finished the regular season off strong with a Senior Night win of 51-10 against Guadalupe Centers.

In the postseason tournament, the Lady Rams took home the third place trophy and finished the season with a solid win against Kansas School for the Deaf (56-30). They brought home the Conference Scholar Award, too.

With such a hard-fought season in the books, and an exquisite record to show for it, the Lady Ram’s future looks promising. As the players perfect their skills over the off-season, it leaves us excitedly awaiting the games to come.
