Sources of Strength is a nationally recognized mental health advocacy group that focuses on early intervention and suicide prevention. It is led by Sara Whelan, school psychologist, and consists of student peer leaders. At HBHA, Sources of Strength is responsible for several, yearly mental health oriented mentoring sessions. For example, Sources of Strength’s last mentoring session focused on the importance of having trusted adults and how to be a supportive friend. Sources of Strength meets every Thursday.
