Overland Park, KS – Last Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, was HBHA senior night for our Rams, and the games did not disappoint! The varsity girls played the first game at 4:30 PM, and the game went back and forth all night long, ending in a climactic game-winning three-pointer by sophomore Gabrielle Sosland, winning the game 50-49. It was an amazing moment, as Sosland nearly fainted in celebration as HBHA students, players, staff, and parents rushed the court to celebrate. After the game, Sosland spoke about what exactly was going through her mind when she hit her shot, “The game was almost over, and I had pretty much given up hope by then” Sosland stated, “but I was still going to try to change that, and what was going through my head was that I was going to miss it and everyone was going to be mad at me for losing senior night, but I didn’t miss it, and that was pretty exciting.” The fans were cleared off the court soon enough, and the senior night ceremony began. The three seniors, Riley Ellis, Ellie Glickman, and Emma Rosenthal, were all accompanied by their parents through the senior night tunnel. Once the celebration concluded, the boys game began. However, this game was much more uneventful than the girls game, as the boys underperformed all night long, losing 39-67 to Training Center Christian Eagles, which was a disappointing end to an all-around eventful senior night.
