Shana Tova! Unfortunately, there were no sports this week because of Rosh Hashanah. However, let’s review how our fall Varsity sports teams have been performing this year.
The Boys’ Varsity soccer team currently has a record of 1-7, which is comedically better than it was last year and the year before that. Two promising matchups in early October versus Daniel Academy and Senior Night versus Blue Valley North’s D-team, could likely end the season on a good note for the Rams under two-time head coach Gabe Perez.
HBHA’s Girls’ Volleyball team has been rocking with a 7-2 record, ranking 3rd in the GPAC. On Monday, Sept. 29th, the girls are going head-to-head with the Daniel Academy Lions, who are currently 2nd in the conference, with a home game white-out theme. Winning this game for them would not only move them up in the standings, but it would also give them the momentum to push them to win the conference entirely.
October is on the horizon, which indicates basketball season is approaching shortly! The girls’ and boys’ varsity teams both have great rosters this year and are projected to do great in their conferences. The varsity basketball teams will also be flying out to Boston in January for a basketball Tournament. HBHA hasn’t been invited to this tournament in nearly ten years, which sets up for some great ball.
